Replied by LA Color Shop B, the Canon camera will not charge this battery in the camera. But you can safely use this charger to charge this BP-827 battery and the stock Canon battery.

Replied by LA Color Shop The battery is 7.2V / 7.4V. It should power your camcorder between 3 to 4 hours depends on usage.

Replied by LA Color Shop The stock battery cannot be charged with this charger. Any non Canon brand BP-827 can use this charger. It weights about the same as BP-827.

Can this charger be used to charge any Canon battery (e.g. the one that comes with the camcorder)?

Second question: Approximately how much battery time is left when the red LED illuminates?

Replied by LA Color Shop We do have conflicting information. From the manufacturer, the charger will not charge the stock battery. However, our customers told us they can charge the stock battery with this charger.

You can assumed the charger won't charge the stock battery and as a bonus if it does =)

Replied by LA Color Shop This battery cannot be charged with the camera. It can only be charged using the including charger, or the AC adapter from the camera.
