Can be used with Canon HV20/HV30/HV40 with any 72mm Wide Angle Lens Adapter
US$ 33.00
The lens hood is made for Canon XH series camcorder. However, it can also be used with Canon VIXIA HV20, HV30 and HV40 with Raynox 6600, Canon WD-H43 or any Wide Angle Lens adapter with 72mm front diamater. It requires some DIY effort including the usage of double-sided tape or "MagicWrap" . This is not a snug fit. If you cannot deal with DIY, please do not purchase this item.
The lens hood is proofed to be effective in blocking glare.
Thanks Monyx at hv20.com for this video.

Do you think this lens hood will work with a Canon HG21 + WD-H37 II Wide Angle Lens? Please reply thanks!
With a little DIY, this lens hood shall fit on any lens attachment with 72mm diameter thread size.
This shipped from the West coast all the way to the East coast in 1.5 days. That's a new record! I will have to pick a few more things up from you.
hi, i have a 6600 raynox lens with a 52 mm thread. ive just ordered done of these from you, but its a 43mm thread. how will i attach it to the lens?
can one buy 1mm step up rings? if not how would you do it? thanks. great service by the way
This lens hood doesn't have a thread. It shall fits any 72mm diameter nicely with a little DIY.
Hi, I'm a bit confused by the posts above, the Raynox 6600 lens has a 72mm diameter doesn't it? I'm looking at buying one of these but need to know if it fits on to a Raynox SRW-6600 58.
Thanks
Yes it can be mount nicely with any 72mm diameter wide angle lens. So your Raynox 6600 will work perfectly. However, there is no thread on the hood so there is some minor DIY needed.
But what is this "DIY"??
DIY = Do It Yourself. The lens hood doesn't have the proper thread to mount on either the WD-H43 or Raynox wide angle lens. I used double-sided foam tape. Some other people uses some kind of non-stick tape buy in home depot to mount the hood.
No. You need to check what's the diameter of your Raynox 6600. Is it a 52mm or is it 43mm (or other size). Canon HV30 stock lens diameter is 43mm. So if you have a 43mm Raynox 6600, you don't need any step up ring. If your Raynox 6600 is 52mm or other size, then you will need to get a 43-to-52mm (or other size of your wide angle lens) step up ring.
My Raynox 6600 Wide Angle lens has a 58-72mm (rear-front) diameter. I'm using a 43-58mm step up ring to attach the Wide Angle lens to the HV30. So, if the Wide angle lens front is 72mm, do I even need an adapter ring for your hood? Thank you for your help!
You will be fine. All you need is some double sided tape or the thing called Magic Wrap to mount the hood.
This hood is compatible with my FISH-EYE RAYNOX HD 3032PRO?
This lens hood fit nicely on any lens attachment with 72mm diameter. You can check if your fish-eye outter diameter is 72mm or not.
Is there another way to ship to Germany? I want this thing so bad but the shipping is so expensive...
There is another way to ship it cheaper but without tracking number. I will email you on this.
I know you have said repeatedly that the hood will fit a 53mm diameter, but say I want to use the hood for a 52mm filter by itself and then a raynox 6600 with 72mm later on. Could I use magic wrap to add a mm to the filter for it to fit so it would be able to go on the filter when I don't need a WA? Thanks
Justin, the lens hood will fit to Raynox 6600 without any problem. You will still need to use either double sided tape, or magic wrap. There're many people using this hood with the Raynox 6600 or Canon WD-H43 WA lens.
Will this hood work on an HV40 (a) without a lens and (b) with an Canon WD-H43?
This lens hood works on any lens adapter of 72mm front. So it will work on Canon WD-H43 but not the bare HV40 with the stock lens.
I noticed that the photos of this hood don't show if it has a lock down screw. Does this hood have a lock down screw?
There is a lock down screw for tighting the lens hood on Canon XH-A1 camcorder ONLY. If you intent to use it on Raynox 6600 or Canon WD-H43, that screw is uesless.
Wonderful service! Thanks! Posted to the UK from the USA super-fast!
A question: how do you recommend I afffix the hood to the WD'? I'd prefer not to get sticky stuff over my nice new lens! Any ideas? Is it possible to use a method where you can take the hood on/off as you need?
You can try to find a product called "Magic Wrap" in hardware store. I have seen other customers mounted the lens hood with Magic Wrap. It leaves no sticky stuff and mounted very firm.

Hi, I have an HV30 with a Canon WD-58H. Do you think this hood will work on this lens?
You can measure if the front of your lens attachment is between 71mm to 73mm, you can mount this hood on it.
I think you need big fat bold text at the top of the page "YES IT WORKS ON THE FREAKING WD-H43 AND OTHER 72MM LENS!! STOP ASKING!!" Maybe font size 72....mm?? Will be ordering. thanks
Thanks for the tip! I actually updated the product description page with your info IN BIG RED FONT.
Which wa lens is best overall the 6600 or the h43 canon I don't care about the cost difference. Mic? canon dm50 ? you look as though you would know the best thank you for any advice and help!!! Joel

Hi , will this fit my hv20 + dof adapter + step up ring 52-72 mm+ 72 mm uv filter?
it will fit to any lens adapter with a 71mm to 73mm front diameter.
Hey guys i have a Sony HDR-SR12 with a sony VCL-HG0737C wide angle lens and the outer diameter of the lens is 71.2mm, so my question is will this canon hood fit snug on the lens or will i have to do some DIY? The sony lens doesn't have any threads to put a filter or adapter, so whats the best suggestion?? Im probably going to end up getting the raynox 6600 pro lens just so that i can put a polarizer or UV filter, i hate filming without one on a sunny day. Thanks
Looks like this lens hood will fit to your wide angle lens. However, you will still need some DIY to have the lens hood mount on it. You can try using those foam double sided tape. Or you can use something called "Magic Wrap" that you can buy at Home Depot.
Hi, LAColor, Regarding DIY the hood to attach to the Raynox HD6600Pro52, I am wondering if it is possible to tighten up the locking screw on the hood to make it attach to the wide-angle lens firmly enough for shooting. I try to avoid double-side tape because I want to keep the hood flexible for removal. Is it possible?
No the screw would not tighten the lens hood unless you have an XH-A1. You can try using "Magic Wrap" at Home Depot instead of using double-sided tape. It will not leave any mark or sticky material trail. I would recommend removing the WA lens together with the lens hood if you want to take things away.
how snug a fit is this lens hood? my wide converter is a 74mm filter size
also
my converted size is 24mm wide, will i see vignetting?
We only tested the lens hood on XH-A1, Canon WD-H43 and Raynox 6600 wide angle lens. We are not sure if it will work on your 74mm lens adapter.
Ordered my hood on Friday afternoon... was in my box on Monday morning. From west coast to Florida in less than 1 business day. You guys rock!
David, glad we can help =)
Same here David. My hood came from California to Florida in one business day. I have never had service like that. Maybe Taky had one of his associates hand carry it??? Outstanding
Can you or anybody tell me what kind of step up ring I would need to be able to use this lens hood with a Nikon 50mm f/1.8D attached to the Twoneil on an HV30?
